Overall size 9.25" x 15". Published in London by Alexander Hogg for use as an illustration in a book describing the voyages of English explorer Captain James Cook. Four large Tahitian boats are seen in this image, each carrying approximately 15 men each. The reason for the assemblage is unclear to us, but we know that these boats were later used to attack Captain Wallis' ship, the Dolphin.
