Sammelband of Colonial American Almanacks for the years 1772, 1774 and 1775.
1) An Astronomical Diary or Almanack for the Year of our Lord Christ 1772, by Nathaniel Ames containing three original woodcuts by the legendary Paul Revere, depicting on front cover Emma Leach, John Dickinson (Patriotic American Farmer) & British Historian Catherine M'Caulay.
It is also of interest to note that the publisher NATE AMES Esq. has signed his name in ink alongside his printed name at the end of the introduction (page 3).
This 1772 publication comprises the first 14 pages (of 24) lacking the final five leaves (August-December).
2) Benjamin West, The New-England Almanac 1774.
Bound out of order but complete.
3) Benjamin West, Bickerstaffs, Boston Almanack 1775, lacking its title-page and engraved map but including first printing of the Charter of Massachusetts-Bay and Hawkesworths description of New Zealand, an extract from Capt. Bernard Romans Natural History of Florida.
At the end is an unrelated signature from an unidentified almanac for 1773.
Dimensions: 4 inches x 6 1/2 inches.
Condition: Not bound, early stitching, woodcuts by Paul Revere are in good condition, corners curled, text stained and ink markings, torn page (not missing) considering age, we all should look so good!
