Description
This lot consists of an oil painting on panel board, done in the Cubist style of Max Weber (Jewish-American, 1881-1961). This image flows with organic shapes and cool tones that speak to the advanced modernism of Max Weber. This framed, museum-quality piece measures approximately 14" x 16" overall, with an image sight of 11.5" x 13.75".
Reverse side of piece features an affixed paper label which bears the name and address of the "Bernard Danenberg Galleries" of New York, NY. The label attributes this piece to Max Weber, and dates it 1951.
Max Weber (Jewish-American, 1881-1961) was born in Poland and studied art at the renowned Pratt Institute (Brooklyn, New York). After college, Weber accepted a few teaching positions around the United States and eventually traveled to Europe, where he continued to pursue his painting studies. When Max Weber returned to the U.S. in 1909, he played a key role in introducing Cubism to the American art world.

Condition
Painting is in overall very good condition. Slight crack in board at lower right under the signature. Paint and signature remain bright, vivid and display very well.
