This lot consists of an oil color field painting on loose canvas, done in the modern art style of Piero Dorazio (Italian, 1927-2005). "Dorazio" is hand painted at lower left. In this vibrant, stimulating image, we see a row of intersecting fluorescent stripes. The entire scene buzzes with color and movement. Artfully executed in the lyrical abstraction style for which Chagall is so well known. This contemporary piece would highlight any collection of fine art. Unframed dimensions measure approximately 18.5" x 21".

Piero Dorazio (Italian, 1927-2005) was born in Rome. Following the second world war, Dorazio ventured into his artistic career by way of an education in architectural design. He was attracted to the work of the Futurists (including Severini, Corpora, and the like), which first drew Dorazio toward painting. By the end of the 1940s and into the early 1950s, Dorazio had completely established himself as an abstract artist. His colorful contributions to modern art speak for themselves, with style and flair all their own.
