Item Details

Description

Monumental Standard glaze vase very much in the style of Maria Longworth Nichols with a scene of large bats flying in front of a full moon. A tall tree stump and tall grasses along with roiling red and orange clouds complete the mystical scene. Impressed marks include Rookwood in block letters, the date, shape number 197 and G for ginger clay. Height 25 1/4 inches. There is professional restoration to one lobe of the crimped rim, several open bubbles in the glaze and some crazing.
