Description
AMERICAN FOLK ART PAIR OF WOOD CARVINGS, each depicting a kneeling woman with long hair wearing a tunic top and long flowing skirt, crossed hands at chest, each with a small flat area to back for mounting. Each retains an old, gold-painted surface with excellent patina, mounted on a wooden base that is likely later. Second half 19th century. 14 1/2" H, 5 7/8" x 7 1/2" bases.
Very good overall condition, each with some age cracking to front, one with minor chip, some expected wear.
