late 19th century, Paris, the painting by Poitevin,
the baluster sky blue and cobalt ground vessels painted in the Art Nouveau taste; with fluted necks above tapered bodies, each depicting a maiden, representing Spring and Autumn, she wears a floral garland and gathers flowers in a seasonal garden, a putto assists by her side, further decorated with flanking gilt floral sprays of a different species, the reverse painted with foliate trophies incorporating a spilt jug and wine cask; the sides with applied gilt bronze flower-filled cornucopia handles, raised on a fluted gilt decorated base, above a bronze support cast with neoclassical motifs, each signed Poitevin on a leaf to the right of each figure, the removable lids with interlaced 'L's enclosing an N, above an S.

EXCELLENT CONDITION, exceptional painting, heavy and clean tilting, slight glaze allover even crackle,, the undersides fitted with plates concealing the underside of the porcelain bases.
