Seaside Palms is a beautiful Sam Newton (1948) Florida Highwaymen oil on board painting. Signed by Newton on the lower base of the painting, this large masterpiece measures 26 inches by 48 inches and with original frame, measures 29.25 inches by 51.5 inches. Highwaymen Paintings are highly sought after and Sam Newton is one of the best of them. Sam Newton (b.1948) is one of the nine original members of the Highwaymen. In the early 1960s, Sam Newton started his painting career near Vero Beach, Florida, painting alongside his brother, Harold Newton. International acknowledged for his beautifully detailed Floridian seascapes and river scenes, Sam Newton is known for his remarkable gift of mixing paint to obtain some of the most vibrant colors seen in recent history. In 2004, Sam Newton was one of twenty-six artists identified as Highwaymen that were inducted into the Florida Artists Hall of Fame (his brothers Harold Newton and Lemuel Newton were inducted as well). 1% of hammer price for all items sold at Masters of Art Volume II Art Series Auction will be donated to the Humane Society.
Condition
Great overall studio condition with vibrant colors. Reviewed under UV light and by naked eye. A small few spots noticed. Frame corner was repaired.
