The glove is custom-made (handmade) for Michael Jackson by his long-time designer, Bill Whitten. Glove in Fine condition, with minor toning/soiling from stage use, and few stones are missing.This style of the crystal glove is one of the most recognized pieces of wardrobe in the history of popular culture. At the height of Michael Jackson's popularity, the Bill Whitten designed crystal "sequined" glove became Jackson's signature fashion item, earning him the nickname "The Gloved One" in the popular media. He appears in countless photographs with one hand bare and one hand waving the Whitten sparkling glove. Jackson settled on this incarnation of the glove in the late 1970s and was seldom seen after that time performing without a white crystal glove. While the style and design specifications of "The" glove have varied slightly during the course of his career, this glove dates to the early 1980s. This glove was commissioned for the Jackson's 1984 Victory tour where Michael performed in fifty-five concerts with his brothers.This off-white glove is detailed with hundreds of round Austrian-crystal rhinestones and each crystal is individually sewn on. Custom-sewn glove bears no size or designer labeling on the inside.
