Ancient Egypt, Lower Egypt, city of Avaris, late Middle Kingdom to Second Intermediate Period, 13th to 18th Dynasty, Hyksos, ca. 1782 to 1570 BCE. A mold-formed faience signet ring of a hexagonal shape with a narrow shank and a face bearing a pair of crescent moons separated by a vertical column. The Hyksos were Syro-Phoenician in origin and ruled over Egypt during much of the Second Intermediate Period.
