Description
Qing Dynasty, Late 19th-early 20th century AD. A parcel-gilt silver ewer with hinged arms to the sides attached to two rings securing the domed lid; the body piriform with incised leaf pattern to the neck, textured field with reserved birds and foliage; arabesque panel to each side enclosing a parcel-gilt profile regardant dragon on a bed of tendrils and lingzhi fungus; body made in two halves with added spout and ring to the rear. 549 grams, 23cm (9"). From the family collection of a Hampstead gentleman; formerly acquired in the 1980s.
