The collection of books in this auction were part of a large group of furnishings rescued from a private home in Galveston, TX. For over 30 years there were periods of a lack of air conditioning, heating or general maintenance and cleaning/dusting.Â Therefore, they were exposed to extreme conditions of heat, cold and humidity.Â Many volumes exhibit the effects of these conditions, including loose covers, foxing, mold and brittleness.
