True Antique Dzi beads are very rare. Ancient Tiger Tooth Motif Dzi. This particular bead is adorned with four rows of Tiger Tooth. The Tiger Tooth Motif is believed to bring strength and courage. The tiger tooth motif may sometimes be interpreted as the Wave Motif. The two motifs are very similar. Sometimes, they are distinguishable and sometimes they are difficult to tell apart. 32.7 mm x 9.8 mm. This piece is in excellent condition for a bead that is estimated to be between 800 to 1000 years old. The extreme age of this bead is evidenced with calcification. There are weathering marks on the body and some minor digs worn smooth from centuries of wearing on the body as an amulet. As with all antique items, imperfections and signs of aging are a part of its natural beauty.
