Description
Maurice Lapp (1925-2014) Bay Area Artist, studied at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago where he earned both a BFA and MFA. In 1956 received a Fulbright Grant. Taught at CCAC in Oakland in 1952, in 1956 he moved to Santa Rosa and taught at Santa Rosa Junior College. He’s had solo exhibitions at the Oakland Museum, the Stevenson College Gallery at UCSC, Stanford University, the California Palace of the Legion of Honor in S.F., and the American Cultural Institute in Mexico. Group shows at Art Institute of Chicago, Whitney Museum of American Art, MoMA, S.F., the Santa Barbara Museum of Art, Detroit Institute of Arts and Expo 1970 in Osaka, Japan, 9"x 12".
