This lot consists of a mixed media illustration on paper, done in the Art Nouveau style of Jean Dupas (French, 1882-1964). This lustrous image depicts a beautiful woman, dripping in gold, surrounded by chrysanthemum-like orbs, swirling arcs of golden yellow, and sparkling pops of color. A handwritten inscription at lower left reads, "Jean Dupas". This unframed piece measures approximately 8" x 4".

Jean Dupas (French, 1882-1964) was a painter, designer, poster artist, and designer. Dupas is closely associated with the Art Deco and Art Nouveau visual art movements. Dupas' work was featured in fashion magazines such as Harper's Bazaar and Vogue and even (by commission) for the London Underground transportation network.
