Description
Two French porcelain dessert plates made for the second marriage of Alexander II to the Duchess Catherine Dolgorukay, 1880. Each plate with an intricate gilded scalloped rim surrounding a cobalt blue inner border and a hand painted central armorial representing the coat of arms of the Grand Duke Yurievsky. Manufacture's mark on the back reads "E. Gallée Central Depot 43 R. Bonaparte". 19th C. Dia: 22.3 cm (8 1/2 in.)
