A RESTORATION MARQUETRY INLAID ORMOLU MOUNTED ROSEWOOD PORTICO CLOCK, FIRST HALF 19TH CENTURY, the rectangular top over an acanthus leaf inlaid frieze, above a circular window opening to reveal an enameled Roman numeral nickeled metal dial centering a machine turned concentric wave face, flanked by scrolling gourd leaf foliate and string faux flute inlaid Doric columns, raised on a rectangular plinth with leafy inlay, on a stepped base on square feet. Height: 16 3/4" Width: 9 1/2" Depth: 5" 1/4" Provenance: Lifelong Collection of Clocks and Antiques, Navasota, Texas.
Condition
Unmarked, some losses, rubbing, patina, loosened ormolu mounts, and various expected wear, but overall in good condition, wear commensurate with age.
