Description
A RENAISSANCE REVIVAL ORMOLU MOUNTED OAK FOUR DIAL CLOCK, HENRY MARC, FRENCH, 19TH CENTURY, of lantern form, the covered cup finial over a dome with bell, arches mounted with masks of Hercules wearing the Nemean lion's pelt and two clubs cross before him issuing scrolling foliate, within four pinecone and laurel wreath finials, over four circular Roman numeral enameled copper dials, each signed, "Hry. Marc," the interior clockworks jeweled and running on, above flourishes with Hercules motifs, flanked by mounted Athenian caryatids issuing flower garlands, raised on a cavetto stepped base on tapered circular gilt brass feet. Condition
Some screws loose, patina, possibly regilt metal mounts, one clock dial enamel with damage and loss, but overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
