A NEAR PAIR OF CHINESE JIAJING STYLE FAMILLE VERTE "DRAGON" STEM CUPS, QING DYNASTY (1644-1912), the unusual bowl form cup with a short parcel-gilt rim encircled by a trefoil and hand enameled jeweled collar centering an iron-red ring, the white ground painted with two writhing dragons among puffs of swirling clouds and celestial flames both chasing a pearl, the bowl terminating in choppy waves with ocean spray, the tapered handles with a meandering pater over a red painted molded band ending with a spray of leaves and feathers. Largest Height: 6 1/8" Diameter: 5"
Condition
One slightly larger than the other, bowls with orange peel textured ground, heavy rubbing and losses to gilt and on some enamel, expected surface soil and wear, and overall in good to very good condition, wear commensurate with age.
