Description
A nice group of three Roman silver coins. Lot includes a silver Denarius of emperor Septimius Severus, AD 193 - 211, struck at Rome, emperor sacrificing on the reverse, (3.75g, 18.5 mm). The second is a silver Denarius of Julia Domna, wife of Sept. Severus, AD 193 - 217, struck at Rome, Venus on the reverse, (3.15g, 19 mm). The last is a Roman Republican silver Denarius of L. Rubrius Dossenus, 87 BC, struck at Rome, head of Jupiter and a triumphal quadriga, (3.55g, 17.5 mm). All darkly toned and in good condition. Ex Chicago private collection.
