Description
A lovely Nishapur glazed bowl, c. 10th Century AD, resting on a short foot with steep walls and inward angled rim. The interior is beautifully decorated with a large bird standing to left amidst geometric and floral motifs bordered by linear bands with pellets above. The exterior is adorned with concentric ovals around the outside of the rim with spaced floral/geometric devices below. Dia: 8 1/4 in (21 cm), H: 3 5/8 in (9.2 cm). Ex Jay Gluck collection.
