James Garfield Signs a Check For a Draft on the U.S. Treasury

A signed check, measuring 8" x 3.75", Washington, D.C., December 2, 1873. Signed "Ja Garfield" as Sergeant-At-Arms of the U.S. House of Representatives, the check is a "Draft on the U.S. Treasury" for "$17.50". With cancellation cuts at the center. Together with a small lithograph of Garfield, measuring 2.75" x 3.5", and a Memorial Pamphlet, measuring 7.25" x 9.75", which was printed after Garfield's death on September 19, 1881. With flattened folds and light toning. The cancellation cuts have been repaired on verso. Boldly signed. Toning, wear, and adhesive residue on verso of the memorial print.
