ACOMA FINE-LINE POLYCHROME OLLA by P PASQUAL, ca. 1970. Condition: Excellent Mark: On bottom: "Acoma / P. Pasqual" Description: It has a segmented triangle pattern, as opposed to the spiral triangle pattern on our older, small, fine-line pot, or our big, old square spiral. It has a tan slip inside the mouth and at the base. Also called "rain pattern." Note: (1) Acoma and Laguna Pottery, p. 177 shows a pot by Carrie (Chino) Charlie from about 1985 that has an identical fine-line design. (2) The Academy of Sciences has a Lucy Lewis from the 1950s that is very similar, but the lines of the spiral cross each turn of the white background. (3) P. Pasqual is not listed as part of the Chino family in 14 Acoma Families, or in Southern Pueblo pottery. However, there are many Pasquals in both books. P. Pasqual is obviously an outstanding potter. 8"d x 6"h.
