Central/Northern Europe, Celtic culture, ca. 5th to 1st century BCE. An iron spear head comprised of a long tubular tang with a faint seam up the back where the tang was shaped to create a socket for a pole. The spear blade has small shoulders and a short body that tapers to a point. During this period of steady conflicts between cultures and clans, a steady demand for weapons created numerous spears for combat such as this one. Size: 1.125" W x 11.6" H (2.9 cm x 29.5 cm).
