c.1915, Original World War I Political Cartoon Artwork, Choice Extremely Fine.
11” x 8.5”, Artist’s Signature “Norman”. Political cartoon depicting two US soldier digging war trenches. The soldier in the back is yelling “THEY OUGHT TO HAVE LET US TAKE THIS COURSE BY MAIL!”,while the main soldier in the front realized “EVERYTHING WAS ALL TORE UP TILL IT LOOKED LIKE BROADWAY AND MADE ME HOMESICK!” This originally pencil drawn, then etched over, was most likely an original drawing that was later published in newspapers of the time. In bottom margin there is a dedication written in pencil. Small water stain on bottom margin; not affecting print itself. In amazing condition with the ink still very black and detailed.
