Oil on canvas. Featuring two woman bathing in a fountain, with a swan in the center. Signed "GERDA. WEGENER" in the bottom right corner, with "1918" inscribed beside the signature. Label affixed to verso reads "W. Russell Button, Inc. FORMERLY OF ACKERMANNS 408 South Michigan Avenue, Chicago GERDA WEGENER FEMMES AU ROCOCO 1918"." Stamped on verso with "Musee d'Orsay PARIS", Galerie Mathias Fels PARIS", Origine Garantie ART.ORG.ES", "GALERIE MATHIAS FELS & CO 188 BOUL HAUSMANN - PAIRS VIII WAG. 10-22", and "Galerie Beyeler PARIS". Attributed to Gerda Wegener (1885-1940, Danish). 60 x 40 cm (24 x 15.5 inches). Provenance: This lot carries limited provenance from a Southern Ontario estate.
