Description
1851 RARE Mormon Pamphlet Lorenzo Snow Only Way to be Saved LDS Mormonism
Lorenzo Snow was an American religious leader who served as the fifth president of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and President of the Italian, Swiss, and East India Missions of LDS. While overseeing the British Mission he wrote a pamphlet that explained the LDS church at its most basic level. He described the first principles and ordinances of their beliefs using an apologetic rather than polemic method with passages from the Mormon bible. Snow focused on faith, repentance, baptism, and gifts of the Holy Ghost. This was the final doctrine treatise of the early Mormon church in the 19th century which,
“eclipsed all other nineteenth-century Mormon tracts in the number of copies distributed … translated into Armenian, Bengali, Danish, Dutch, French, German, Greek, Italian, and Swedish” (Nielson)
