A less-known artist from the Jonathan Demme estate. Demme enjoyed collecting these works and exhibited them at home and in public venues alongside well known Haitian artists and, celebrating them equally.

This is a Haitian Revolution battle scene, one where Haitian soldiers and their allies were able to learn about French formations, a knowledge that allowed the Haitians to defeat the French in subsequent battles.
