John Edwards (American). Rare early Colonial Georgian Era Sterling silver egg boiler or coddler with lion paw feet, reeded legs, and acanthus or feather knees. Double snake handles in a Neoclassical form. Comes with original burner. Bears English hallmarks for Sterling with the date code for 1802 and mark of John Edwards. Polished out monogram. Good condition with mild surface wear. Measures 7 1/2 in. x 8 1/4 in. Total weight approximately 1,121 grams. Hill Auction Gallery in house continental USA shipping $45 plus insurance.
