An original hand painted genre portrait on paper, in somber tones of black, white and gray, depicting a family scene late in the presidency of Abraham Lincoln (1809-1865), with figures including the president and First Lady Mary Todd Lincoln, with additional figures including Lincoln's private secretary, John Hay, a background figure which may be Robert Todd Lincoln, the president's son, and a female figure playing the piano. Artist signature to lower left. Presented in a decorative cream matte and wooden frame. Good to fair condition. Age related wear to frame. Measures 26 3/4 in. x 42 in. (sight), 35 in. x 50 1/4 in.
