A CHINESE BAMBOO BIRD CAGE WITH BLUE AND WHITE PORCELAIN BOWLS, CIRCA 1960-1980, of two part cylindrical form, surmounted by a brass hook suspending a double looped crown attached to a flat top of concentric circles in bamboo strips intersected by bamboo straws continuing down sides, enclosing an interior fitted with two small blue and white decorated porcelain bowls above a carved bamboo perch rod with stylized tree carved plaques at the sides, over three carved triangular rods holding aloft a ring form roost within three carved Noh side masks, raised on a detachable repurposed box top base with central bail handle and carved catfish figure, within conforming sides of carved rectangular panels centering stylized intertwined fish over a similar rectangular panel flanked by matching pierced details, raised on rippled arch feet with same decoration ending on ball feet. In overall fair to good condition, the bamboo is varnished, pitting on metal suspension hook, light surface wear commensurate with age and use.
