A SET OF TWELVE AMERICAN STERLING SILVER SALAD FORKS, DURGIN, CHRYSANTHEMUM, RETAILED BY J.J. FREEMAN, CIRCA 1900, pattern issued in 1893, each tapered handle encrusted with chrysanthemums in various stages of bloom, centering an engraved monogram, verso marked with a script letter "D," an "E," and "Sterling 925/1000 Patent," six forks marked with retailer, length: 7 1/2"; together with a gilt washed bowl spoon engraved "Baby," length: 4 1/4,"Â total approximate weight: 24.77 troy oz.
Condition
Six without monogram on front, and monogram on the back, five with monogram on front, but no monogram on the back, and one engraved front and on the back"June 15, 1900," the demitasse spoon monogrammed, "Baby," some mild expected surface wear, rubbing losses to gilt washed spoon bowl, but overall in very good condition, wear commensurate with age and use.
