Description
Lalique (French). A black moulded glass vase, in the Tanzania Zebra pattern designed and created in 1991 by Marie Claude Lalique (1935-2003). This creation reintroduced two Lalique techniques from the 1920s: mouth-blown glass decorated with hand-painted color enameling. Fine satin finishing upon exotic foliage that overreaches the central frieze of the vase, with encircling crystal galloping zebras. Delicate white enamel highlights on each zebra, evoking a vibrant power of movement that seemingly brings each equine form to life. Etch stamped LALIQUE FRANCE 238 to bottom. Good overall condition. Measures 8 1/2 in. x 8 in. Hill Auction Gallery in house USA continental shipping $55 plus insurance. Gallery will refer local third party USA and international shippers. Purchaser pick up available upon request.
