Description

Aaron Willard, Jr. (American, 1783-1864). Antique mahogany banjo clock with gilt accents, brass finial, and ornate brass sides. Clock has round brass bezel opening to a white painted dial that reads "A. WILLARD JR BOSTON" enclosing the eight-day weight driven movement. Flaring throat with gilt, green, and red scrolling banner, over a box base with panel depicting an architectural landscape with buildings and legend "BOSTON STATE HOUSE" to bottom. Includes winding key. Not tested. Good condition with normal age wear. Brass bracket loose at one side and face showing crazing on enamel paint. Old restoration to dial. Measures 41 in. x 10 1/2 in .x 4 in. Hill Auction Gallery will not ship. Gallery will refer a local shipper for international buyers. Purchaser pick up available upon request.
