Description
A large 19th Century Victorian flatback Staffordshire figural group vase. Hand colored with gilt stripes to rim and base, and modeled as a Scottish Highlander huntsman and his lady, possibly based on Roualeyn George Gordon Cumming (1820-1866), Scottish traveller and sportsman known as the "lion hunter." Unmarked, like most Staffordshire figures produced between 1740 and 1900. Good overall condition, minor loss to paint. Measures 14 in. x 8 1/2 in. x 3 1/2 in.
