Dinner Service. Antique Richard Ginori "Khedive" porcelain service including (24) dinner plates, (12) dessert plates, (12) soup plates, (12) coffee cups and saucers, (1) large covered soup tureen, (1) covered vegetable tureen, (1) footed dish, (1) salad bowl, (6) large serving dishes, and (2) small serving dishes. Extremely rare service of fine porcelain made in 19th century Italy by well known manufacturer Richard Ginori. Designed by Sem Bini after a first important and very large set commissioned to Ginori, and created by Gaetano Lodi between 1873 and 1875 for the Egyptian Khedive, viceroy during the Turkish occupation, and named Pharaoh's memories ("Ricordi Faraone"). Museum quality pieces from a famous service with an Egyptian decor. Pieces are hand decorated in black, green, orange, and yellow enamels against a lustrous white ground and are richly gilt. The original service was made by the Ginori firm for the Khedive Isma'il Pasha aka Ismail the Magnificent. From an E 66th St, Manhattan estate.

Good. Handles on one tureen have been repaired; minor enamel losses.
