East Asia, Neolithic age, Majiayao culture. The Majiayao culture was a group of neolithic communities who lived primarily in the upper Yellow River region in eastern Gansu, easternQinghai and northern Sichuan, China. The culture existed from 3300 to 2000 BC.. Polychrome pottery jar, globular body corseted at the neck, strap handles. Painted in black and red. Comprised of bands with mesh patterns. 4 1/2 inches tall x 51/2 inches wide. Jar has COA. Good condition.
