Manner of E. Michael Mitchell (Canadian, 1920-2009). Original goauche painting illustration for magazine cover. A 1940s genre study style illustration in the mode of magazine covers. Signed MICHAEL center left. Includes note affixed with suggested origination. Produced in the manner of Mitchell, designer of the dust jacket for the first edition of J.D. Salinger's 1951 novel, Catcher in the Rye, and an illustrator in the 1940s and 1950s for Cosmopolitan, Collier's, Women's Day, and other publications. Gallery offers no proof or guarantee of provenance. Good estate fresh condition. Storage related wear to the frame. Measures 28 1/8 in. x 30 1/4 in. Work size window opening : 18 1/2 in x 20 1/2 in.
