Description
CHINESE EXPORT PORCELAIN SEPIA HAND-PAINTED TABLE ARTICLES, LOT OF TWO, comprising a covered oval server with molded pine cone finial, having three medallions (two to cover and one to interior) featuring a stately mansion surrounded by trees with a meandering stream in foreground and gilt "JS" monogram, having additional banded decorations with triangle and foliate designs with blue banded rim, and an oval-shaped open salt having central medallion featuring buildings beside a river with three mountains in background. Server having two lightly incised character marks just above base and incised "Z" to cover. Late 18th/early 19th century. Server 4 1/2" HOA, 11" x 9 1/8" rim.
Server undamaged, except having some wear to gilt decorations; salt having two chips with areas of glaze loss to rim.
