This bronze depicts a Native American mother laying on the earth holding her swaddled child. Marked A.P. and Signed and dated "R.C. Gorman, 1983": 11" ht. x 26" wd.
R.C. Gorman was referred to as the "Picasso" of native American artists. Born in Arizona in 1931, Gorman was a celebrated Navajo artist whose paintings, sculptures and prints earned him an international reputation. His storied career attracted collectors from around the country at his Taos, New Mexico Based gallery.
