Item Details
Description
David Yurman signed sterling cuff bracelet with faceted peridot and gold accents. Measures 2 5/8"W and weighs 16.3dwt approx. This lot is accompanied by a GIA appraiser letter from an independent and well respected firm established over 75 years ago. The history of David Yurman begins in the 1960s in New York City, where he was a humble sculptor earning recognition in the Beatnik art scene. After meeting his wife & partner Sybil, a talented artist as well, the couple started their first jewelry business in 1969 called Putnam Art Works. The two collaborated to create jewelry that was both a fashion statement and a work of art, but they struggled until they founded the David Yurman brand in 1980 & developed their most famous & iconic design: the cable bracelet. It was an immediate success, and remains to this day one of the world’s most beloved jewelry designs. But the brand has grown to include much more than just cable-detailed items. David Yurman creates bold modern jewelry with an artistic aesthetic in sterling silver, white and yellow gold, and brightly colored gemstones for a minimalist look favored by luxury lovers, stylists and fashionistas alike. Additionally, David Yurman is involved in the entire creative process, from initial sketch to finished piece. The finest precious metals, rare gemstones, and unconventional materials are then fashioned by the world’s best craftspeople into jewelry of enduring quality and beauty that is loved by collectors worldwide.
