Auguste Rodin Deux Filles Watercolor and Graphite on Paper. Measures 21.5"H x 14.5"W Sight, 31.75"H x 24"W Framed. Provenance: Carambot Art New York,NY December 28th, 2003, RV Fine Art New York,NY January 2004 Condition: Some visible Creases. Overall in good condition. Rodin was a highly regarded French artist considered one of the most important modernists. Known for his expressive depictions of the human form in bronze and marble, Rodin is responsible for such iconic works as The Kiss (c. 1882) and The Thinker (1902). “To any artist, worthy of the name, all in nature is beautiful, because his eyes, fearlessly accepting all exterior truth, read there, as in an open book, all the inner truth,” he once explained. Today his work can be found in major institutions around the world, including museums dedicated to his oeuvre, such as the Rodin Museum in Philadelphia and the Musée Rodin in Paris.
