DESCRIPTION: Twin fireplace surrounds, 1906. Salvaged from the Senate Hotel, Market Square, Harrisburg Pennsylvania, in the mid 1990's. Probably from the second floor private dining room. The Senate Hotel was designed by Miller Isaac Kast and opened by hotelier James Russ in 1906. Fireplace opening flanked by Corinthian columns, surplice carved with urn and swag pattern. Mantle with frame for mirror flanked by figural columns MEASUREMENTS: Each 8'5" high x 7'3" wide x 28" deep. OPENINGS: One with fireplace opening (internal) 40" high x 801-1/2" wide and overmantle opening 12" high x 47-1/2" wide; other with fireplace opening 37" high x 51" wide and overmantle opening 12" high x 47-1/2" wide. Proportion subject in photo is 5'4" tall. CONDITION: Each with losses. Old repaint. Loose pieces present. NOTE: These must be picked up on location in Harrisburg, PA. Address will be provided to the winning bidder.
