Description
This Early mahogany 18th Century Chippendale 3-drawer desk has a chamfered top, pegged and and dovetail construction, and possibly original hardware. It has cut out brace details, secondary wood is pine.There is a single plank back. The drawers, sides and bottoms are pine. It has been refinished. Condition is good, used condition. It measures 28" tall x 36" across x 19" deep. This Early Chippendale desk is from the estate of the tenth Governor of Wisconsin, Lucius Fairchild, with documentation.This Eastern antique desk comes from Governor Fairchild's wife family, Francis Bull Fairchild, who traces her lineage back to two Mayflower families.
