**First Time At Auction**
Ancient Near East, Mesopotamia, Sumer, Isin Larsa, Neo-Sumerian period, ca. 2200 to 1925 BCE. A hand-carved stone cylinder seal bead of mottled russet and dark gray hues with a central suspension hole running through the body. Inscribed on the stamp seal are two columns of cuneiform text as well as a deity facing left and holding a scepter with two supplicants in front of him. Additional stacks of goods and geometric shapes are shown between the figures. Custom putty impression included. Size: 0.8" L x 0.4" W (2 cm x 1 cm); 2" H (5.1 cm) on included custom stand.
Provenance: private Zaveloff collection, Lakewood, New Jersey, USA, acquired from Venus Gallery, Israel, in 2002
