Description
**First Time At Auction**

Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 2nd to 3rd century CE. An attractive unguentarium of a petite size, formed from semi-translucent glass of a nearly-colorless hue. The vessel is defined by a hemispherical base, a tapering cylindrical body, a flared rim, and a pair of applied strap handles along the shoulders. Brilliant layers of rainbow-hued iridescence have formed across the surfaces and imbue the colorless vessel with an attractive burst of color. Size: 1.3" W x 3.7" H (3.3 cm x 9.4 cm); 4.1" H (10.4 cm) on included custom stand.

Provenance: ex-Davis collection, Houston, Texas, acquired before 2013 from various auction houses in London and New York
