**First Time At Auction**

Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Colima, ca. 300 BCE to 300 CE. A hand-built pottery acrobat figure with an unusually contorted body. Posed in a handstand with the head facing forward, the figure's bent legs project into the air; however, the legs are bent opposite to how they would normally bend. Coffee-bean-shaped eyes, a prominent conical nose, a slit-form mouth, and large earrings frame the minimalist visage, and the head is capped with a trio of segmented crests. The bottom of the left arm serves as the mouthpiece for the whistle and produced a high-pitched sound when played. Custom wooden display stand included.
