Pablo Picasso (Spanish 1881-1973) Fleurs (for U.C.L.A.) (B. 1297; M. 351), 1961 lithograph printed in colors on Arches paper signed in pencil and numbered 31/100; with margins 29 x 20 1/2in (73.5 x 52cm) Provenance: Property from a Private Collector, Los Angeles, California. Footnote: In 1961, an exhibition to celebrate the artist’s birthday was held in Dickson Art Center, now Perloff Hall on the UCLA campus. It featured more than 250 works from all of the artist’s significant artistic periods: blue, rose, African, cubist and post-cubist, in the form of oil paintings, water colors, drawings, lithographs and prints. To commemorate the exhibition and to support the university, Picasso produced and signed an edition of 100 lithographs, of which this is one.
Condition
Framed 38 x 29 1/2in. Toning around edges - visible in catalogue images - yet colors bright; good overall condition. Not examined out of frame.
