Chinese Archaic style ritual Ding tripod vessel, Possibly Western Zhou Dynasty (10th c. BCE), patinated metal, the bell-shaped body with studded rim and upright loop handles on round tapering legs, with elaborately carved zitan base and cover, the cover set with a pierced carved Yuan style white jade finial, 24"h x 12"dia (total)
Condition
Good/Fair, heavily corroded bronze surface with dark green and white encrustations, probable old restorations to handles, body and leg, old infill patch repairs to wood base, scattered spot edge chips and hairlines to base and lid, the off-white jade finial is generally even in color with some translucence, displaying a couple of small dark lines, possibly a few edge fleabites but no cracks or repairs observed **Condition reports are rendered as specialist opinion by the staff of the Auction House and not as statements of fact.
