6 museum quality 1890s black forest solid walnut hand carved chairs. 2 armed chairs and 4 side chairs. Each back panel depicts a different subject carved in the wood. Every aspect of each chair is hand carved right down to the hundreds of tiny spindles. Each person has wood shoes on and a hat. (1) Arm chair and man throwing seeds to plant (2) Arm chair with women and sickle harvesting crops (3) Side chair with man and shovel (4) Side chair with woman praying (5) Side chair with a man looking out to sea (6) Side chair with a woman looking out to sea. 3 crests on side chairs reglued. 2 chairs are missing 2 small spindles. Overall condition is excellent but could use a good cleaning. Side chairs are 43.625"h x 16"w x 15.25"l and arm chairs are 47.5"h x 23.25"w x 20"l.
